Maple Leaf Baseball League (MLBL) 2026 Season: New Player Application Guidelines
Welcome to the Maple Leaf Baseball League! We are excited that you are interested in joining our vibrant and competitive baseball multi-cultrual community for the 2026 season.
Unlike traditional league tryouts, the MLBL operates a centralized placement system to ensure every player is matched with a team that best suits their skill level, location, and scheduling needs, promoting competitive balance and maximum enjoyment across all divisions.
1. Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for placement in the MLBL 2026 season, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Age: Must be 19 years of age or older by Opening Day (May 2026).

Commitment: Must commit to the full MLBL season schedule (typically May to October, including playoffs).

Waiver: Must agree to sign the MLBL Liability Waiver upon team placement.
2. The MLBL Placement Process

3. Required Application Components

Ensure all contact details are current, as this is how we will notify you of your placement.
B. Baseball Experience Profile
This section is crucial for accurate placement. Please be detailed and honest:

Primary and Secondary Positions: (e.g., Starting Pitcher, Center Field, Third Base, Utility)

Highest Level Played: (e.g., High School Varsity, College Club, Independent League, Adult Recreational League)

Skill Self-Assessment: Rate your hitting, pitching, and fielding ability on a scale of 1 (Beginner) to 5 (Advanced/Highly Competitive).

4. Placement Criteria: How We Match You
The MLBL Player Personnel Committee uses the following weighted factors to match you with a team:

Team Need (40%): Matching your primary position with specific roster gaps (e.g., teams requiring a new catcher or relief pitcher).

Skill Level (30%): Ensuring parity by placing highly-rated players on competitive teams and developmental players on teams suited for growth.
